How we research and update guides
Studying abroad means paying fees and filing visa applications on the strength of what you read. These are the standards our guides are held to.
What we publish
EduRut publishes three kinds of content. Route guides cover one home country and one destination — for example Nepal to Japan or India to the UK — because the paperwork, money rules and costs differ by route. Topic guides cover one stage of the journey that is the same on every route, such as choosing a money-transfer provider or booking student flights. Listings are services published by the providers themselves, such as universities, language schools, scholarships, visa services and transfer providers.
Guides are written by the EduRut editorial team. Listings are written by the provider and reviewed by us before they appear; they are not editorial content.
Where the facts come from
Each route guide is built on a fact sheet for its destination and its home country: intakes, the student-visa process and fees, proof-of-funds rules, work rights and typical living costs. Those facts are taken from official and government-backed sources — immigration departments, central banks, education ministries and the organisations that run the language tests. Each guide lists those official sources at the end.
We use software, including AI-assisted drafting and editing, to help assemble and polish guides from the fact sheets. Facts come from the fact sheets and the official sources, never from the software, and a member of the team reviews every guide before it is published or updated.
Verify notes
Fees, exchange rates, fund thresholds and work-hour limits change between intakes. Any figure that changes often carries a Verify note naming what to check and where. Treat our figures as a planning guide, and confirm them on the official page before you pay anything or submit an application.
Updates and corrections
- Every guide shows when it was last updated, and route guides also show when they were first published. The updated date only changes when the content changes, not when we touch formatting.
- We re-check each route guide against its official sources ahead of the main intakes and whenever a source announces a rule change.
- Anyone can report an error. Email a correction with the guide's link and the section concerned; we reply within one business day, two at most, and fix confirmed errors in the guide itself.
How listings are reviewed
Providers publish their own listings under our Content Policy. An admin reviews each listing before it goes live and removes listings that are misleading, out of date or reported to us. A listing appears in search engines only once the provider has described the service in enough detail to be useful on its own.
Independence from advertising
Providers cannot pay to appear in a guide or to change what a guide says. Paid placements on EduRut are labelled "Sponsored". Ads served by Google AdSense are chosen by Google, appear only on guides and the hub pages that introduce them — never on listing or account pages — and have no influence on our content. See the Privacy Policy for how ads use cookies.
What our guides are not
EduRut is not an immigration adviser, a lawyer or an education agent, and our guides are general information rather than advice on your individual case. For a decision that depends on your circumstances, ask the institution, the embassy or a licensed adviser. Questions about this policy go to our contact page.
